buy custom When Nanotechnology Meets Robotics essay

buy custom When Nanotechnology Meets Robotics essay Nanotechnology has the capability of playing an influential part in the current inventions. This is because of wide area that nanorobotics can contribute to their development. These areas include medicine, classic home appliances, and the manufacturing industry. With the coming of this technology, it is essential that individuals with no idea of how Nanotechnology functions strive to become conversant with how they work. Despite research indicating this field to be a futuristic field, various experiments and studies have taken place at an advanced level. The ambition of making this field available to the public has pulled scientist together from various fields such as computer programming, medicine and engineering. Noticeably, this field of Nanorobotics has realized a rapid expansion and interest because of the benefits it avails to the medicine industry. However, not much development has been achieved in this field, but scientists in Japan and the United States have made a significa nt step. Nanotechnology will enhance the current technology in various fields such as the space exploration applications, systems that use X-ray photons, computer memory chips, Genome applications for manipulating the DNA, Cell Probes, and Optical antennas. Basing on the speculations that Nanotechnology and Nanorobotics will accomplish it sure will be the next trendy thing. Nanorobotics Nanorobotics is a term easily understood with those possessing technical knowledge in the field. However, Nanorobotics is a term that originates from two words, which are robotics and Nanotechnology. Therefore, for a thorough understanding of the topic, research asserts that definition for the words that contribute to the term Nanorobotics explained in detail. Nanotechnology, which contributes to the first part of the word Nanorobotics, refers to engineering that result in manufacturing or building of tiny machines at an atomic level. Two scientists namely Charles M. Lieber and Alexander Balandin orchestrated developments in this field. Their works were visible as early as 1959, and it was it the form of conceptualizations and theories. This field aims at reducing the size of structures or particles. It focuses on lessening the size of these structures and particles to the size, which humans naked eyes cannot visualize. The basic point is to reduce the size of large structures to tiny scales producing tiny objects. On the other hand, robotics been a field of engineering specializes in the theoretical and practical areas of several disciplines such as manufacturing, designing, and construction. However, it focuses on these areas on both moving and mobile machines. According to research, this field is not that developed like the Nanotechnology. This is because the theoretical perspectives of robots commenced practicality as recent as the 1960s. This concept has undergone significant growth that many industrial applications utilize robotics in their everyday works. In the home environment, though, no significant developments regarding robotics are recognized. Noticeably, Nikola Tesla has contributed immensely in promoting Robotics as a major field in engineering and science. The definition of Nanotechnology and Robotics helps understand Nanorobotics easily. Therefore, from the two definitions Nanorobotics entails the development of technology in engineering involving robotics and technology. It comprises of science and engineering of making tiny robots close to microscopic levels utilized in various practical fields. Significant milestone in Nanorobotics involve nanoids, nanorobots, which are also referred to as nanohumans. The Concept behind Nanotechnology According to an interview on nanotechnology and photonics by Veselago, the first step to achieving a functioning nanorobot is to come up with an assembly line containing nanorobots. Nanomachine are essential for these nanorobots, although it is estimated that these Nanomachines take a long time to b converted to fully functioning nanorobots. The nanomachines are instrumental though in reduction of manufacturing time through replication and formation of many assemblers, which aid in coming up with Nanorobot in the shortest period possible. Research asserts that the advantage associated with the many assemblers is that they can manipulate a structure at the level of molecules and atoms, which eventually enable a machine to work (Bhatia). The book Nanomedicine and Nanorobotics assert that nanotechnology is essential for research purposes. This is through the things that can be conceptualized through Nanotechnology. For instance, Sattler indicates in his book that scientists can conceptualize an insect smaller in size than an ant. This is christened a mechanized Microant, which comes in different designs and models. Such a Microant will contain eyes fitted with cameras essential for feeding the researchers back with information, as this Microant can be send to deeper grounds for purposes of research. Further reports from the book indicate that the conceptualized insect should be able to go as deep as ten kilometers beneath the earths surface, and it should do this through finding cracks beneath the ground and avoiding blocked passages. This is a great discovery in the field of science, as it opens up new areas that were inaccessible for research (Veselago). Nanorobotics also plays an essential role in the field of medicine. The book Nanomedicine and Nanorobotics assert that scientists have been able to come up with DNA strands. The book also indicates that, with further research in the area of Nanomedicine, scientist will achieve milestones in the medical area that seem like unachievable dreams now. Some of the feats that can be achieved in the medical area include repairing of torn tissues, curing of cancerous growths, and creation of artificial blood. Another key area in medicine where Nanotechnology influences medicine immensely is through Nanobots. The picture below depicts the stream of Nanobots on the human body. Nanobots form a significant milestone in the field of medicine through the combination of Nanotechnology and Robotics. With nanobots, different applications significant for treatment are present. With these applications at hand, research asserts that it is easier to treat organisms present in the human body that cannot be located through the use of surgery. Noticeably, this will enable doctors in keeping at bay diseases that are hard to treat such as diabetes and cancer. Sattler also indicates in his book that, with the approval of nanotechnology, the fight against cancer will be worn because of the effectiveness and ease associated with nanorobots. This effectiveness and ease associated with nanorobots is because of their capability, to fight cancer cells directly while at the same time reducing the side-effects associated with cancer. Predictions indicate that curing of cancer and other malignant diseases will improve further because research has extended further to the nanoscopic field. Other prospective areas where nanobots utilization will take place include environmental clean-ups involving oil and water pollution and toxic wastes on land or water like oil spills. Nanobots will be utilized by industries in the creation of materials requiring artificial and specified finishing. Making of artificial materials will become safer through the use of nanobots. There will a significant achievement technology wise as predictions of advancement in computer chips, Microscopic parts of the mobile phone with powerful processors. All these will be achieved through the conceptualized applications of Nanobots. There is also an indication that nanobots will aid in manufacturing of foods. This will be a significant milestone because that will mean elimination of famine and deaths caused by famine. An immense improvement in other fields that is predicted with the coming of this technology includes plastic materials, car paints,, and stronger building structures. However, several implications will arise with the adoption of nanotechnology. These include health and environmental issues described as unintended. For instance, a dangerous product associated with nanotechnology involves silver nanoparticles. Research indicates that these silver nanoparticles are bacteriostatic in nature, and they harm beneficial bacteria essential for the breakage of organic matter in plants and farms. Another implication associated with nanotechnology is the carbon nanotubes, which are harmful to humans especially when inhaled. Research indicates that they do have the capability of causing mesothelioma. Therefore, a thorough regulation from the governments will be necessary to ensure that nanotechnology is utilized to safe extents and that nanoparticles is not overused in organic foods. Other areas that form risks associated with nanotechnology include networked cameras, weapons of mass destruction, and faster development of other weapons. This forms a risk because nanotechnology basic indicate that if nanotechnology is utilized in these areas, countries will posses weapons of mass destruction not traceable by the UN, which poses a security threat to the world. The capability of making many weapons at a time will also promote violence between ethnic groups and countries. The use of networked cameras will promote a lot of spying leading to conflicts between countries. Because of these contradicting influences associated with nanotechnology, there has been a raging debate, as to whether their adoption should be mandated or not. In conclusion, nanotechnology and robotics are becoming popular worldwide with indications of complex developments in 20 to 30 years to come. Research indicates that joining of technologies between nanotechnology and robotics will result to complex nanorobotics essential for achievement of several feats in the world. For instance, nanorobots will benefit the research industry, as it will lead to opening up of areas that normal research could not penetrate. An example in this field includes the manufacture of Microant cameras capable to penetrate tiny holes in the ground. These nanorobots will be able to do this, as they will have eyes fitted with cameras that will feed the researchers with information. Another area where nanotechnology will influence most is medicine. Various benefits result with adopting nanorobotics in medicine such as the possibility to treat cancer, diabetes and other malignant diseases. Nanobots also influence the medicine area because they have the capability to fight cancer cells directly while at the same time reducing the side effects associated with cancer. If adopted, nanotechnology will also influence other areas such as the creation of weapons and gadgets that will have super-high speeds. These gadgets include computer microchips and phones with faster processors. The world will benefit with an improved car paint, and improved production of farm produces associated with nanotechnology. However, there have been some implications regarding the adoption of nanotechnology, which relates to environmental and health concerns. Complains have emerged that adoption of the nanotechnologies will result to problems linked with weapons of mass destruction, networked cameras that will aid spying, and the possibility of creation of many weapons at the same time. The problem relating to making of many weapons at the same time is that elimination of an ethnic group or community will be easier and faster. This shows that nanotechnology is best for people with positive intentions that promote the development of humans, while at the same time taking care of environment and human health. Basing on the benefits related to the adoption of nanotechnology and the implications mentioned nanotechnology appears to be the future technology because the world is facing complex challenges, which can be sorted through the use nanotechnology. Journal Week 1 Essays - English-language Films, Free Essays

Journal Week 1 Essays - English-language Films, Free Essays I can relate to Eddie. When I was in my previous college I didnt know what I was doing for a while. I was trying to figure out what was going on in the class room when we were learning a new technique learning a new formula in math. I had just changed my medications and I didnt know what was going on. Everything was difficult for me at that point. I wanted to give up. When it came to not being successful at not getting the formula I wasnt fully understanding what was going on. I didnt know if I wasnt doing one of the steps right. I couldnt figure out if I was not fully grasping the concept of the formula. When it came down to it I was having so much difficulty. When I am looking back at the situation I see that I could have taken a step back from the formula and really tried to break it down and asked for helped to see if that would have reduced my frustration. I know that when I did ask someone for help I had a better success with the formula and that was a good thing. It became all about how I decided to use my mind and not allow myself to break down or shut off when I felt defeated would have reduced my frustration and would have majorly increased my chances of success. When it came to this experience I have learned so many things. I have learned that I cannot always do things on my own and its ok to ask for help. I have also learned that when it comes to things that I dont always fully grasp that when I take a step back or look at the problem from a different point of view I will get a better picture of what the teacher was asking for and will be able to do the problem.

A company shall be deemed to be a subsidiary of another

A company shall be deemed to be a subsidiary of another Disclaimer: This work has been submitted by a student. This is not an example of the work produced by our Law Essay Writing Service . You can view samples of our professional work here . A company shall be deemed to be a subsidiary of another According to section 4 of the Companies Act, a company shall be deemed to be a subsidiary of another, if and only if: (a) that other controls the compositions of its Board of directors; or (b) that other holds more than half in nominal value of its equity share capital(where a company had preference share holders, before commencement of the Companies Act,1956, enjoying voting rights with that of equity shareholder, for the purpose of control, holding company should enjoy more than half of the total voting power)   [ 1 ]   ; or (c) the first-mentioned company is a subsidiary of any company which is that other’s subsidiary. For example, where company B is a subsidiary of company A and company C is a subsidiary of company B then company C shall be the subsidiary of company A. if company D is a subsidiary of company C, then company D shall also be a subsidiary of company B and consequently also of company A.   [ 2 ]    In the case of M.Velayudhan v. Registrar of Companies   [ 3 ]   the position regarding holding-subsidiary relationship was extensively laid down : â€Å"Sec. 4 envisages the existence of subsidiary companies in different situations. It may be that by acquiring sufficient share capital of a company, sufficient control may be obtained over the company to enable control in the composition of BOD. But, it is also possible to obtain such control in regard to the composition of the BOD without making such an in equity capital of the company. Such control may be by reason of an agreement such as where one company may agree to advance funds to another company and in return may, under the term of an agreement, gain control over the right to appoint all or a majority of BOD. The first of the cases envisaged in section 4 is the case where a control is obtained by a company in the matter of composition of the BOD of another company. That would be sufficient to constitute the former as holding company and the other as subsidiary. The second type of cases is where more than half of the nominal value of the equity share capital is held by another company. By virtue of such holding that other company becomes a holding company and the one whose share are so held becomes a subsidiary company. The third case envisaged is where The Use Of Subsidiary Corporations The control of subsidiaries may be accomplished through the creation of a separate corporation to handle a distinct phase of the company’s business, or through the purchase of interests in companies previously existing, the main corporation being in this case the holding company. The use of subsidiary corporations is becoming more and more extensive. A certain manufacturing corporation, for instance, has one operating company, one selling company, one purchasing company, one company owning a short railroad, one real estate company to buy land and erect buildings, and another company to operate these build ings. The United Cigar Stores Company also has a distinct corporation for the handling of its real estate operations.

Information and communication technology in society Essay

Information and communication technology in society - Essay Example de worse by the time limit which makes it difficult for the young people to afford surfing for a longer time than their money would facilitate (Looker et al 2009 p 44). As such, they search for information quickly so as to save internet expenses thus leaving no space to evaluate the information they find. This leads to poor translation which results to cases of plagiarism especially in higher institutions of learning. While searching for information on the internet using the search engines, it is always useful to use key words that would display specific information required. Research shows that young people are poor in this as they most of the time use long sentences that makes the searching process tedious and inaccurate (Luyt 2008). As such, they waste a lot of time before they could find information due to trial and errors. According to research, young people tend not realize that internet is not just the search engines such as Google, but a collection of many providers. This is due to the fact that they concentrate much of their information seeking on these search engines instead of widening their scope (Dresang 2006 p 25). As such, they get limited knowledge on the constituents of the internet, which could provide more valuable and effective information or which could help them quantify their ability to use the internet. Digital divide is the gap that exists within the society due to the fact that not all persons have been able to acquire the skills to use internet technology (Rooksby 2008 p 181). This results from the difference in income generation between various individuals whereby some have the capability to acquire the necessary equipment which facilitates connectivity. According to research, almost 50% of adults in America alone do not have access to internet technology, a situation that is attributed to financial constraints (Warschauer 2004 p 115). It also shows that those with internet connection have a high chance of getting a job than those

Econometrcs Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Econometrcs - Essay Example Accordingly the log-log model was found consistent with the economic theory. For example, the coefficient of own price was not significant while the coefficient of output price was negatively correlated in the linear-linear model. Cost minimizing farmers’ input demand however, should be positively correlated to the output price i.e. with increasing output price which in turn increase farmer’s profit the demand for inputs also should increase. Therefore, in the urea fertilizer demand model the paddy price should be positively correlated with the fertilizer demand. And also the price of urea should be negatively and significantly correlated to the demand for urea. Hence the log-log model is consistent with the economics theory. Therefore, it was used for interpretation as follows. Table2: Test for Autocorrelation Breusch-Godfrey LM test for autocorrelation lags(p) chi2 df Prob > chi2 1 0.520 1 0.4709 H0: no serial correlation N*R2 = 23*0.516 = 11.868 N*R2 > chi2 Therefore reject H0. There is auto correlation in the model. Thus the robust estimates were taken. Table3: Test for Multicolinarity Variable VIF 1/VIF Log-Urea Price (Rs/Kg) 2.67 0.37453 Log- Open Market Price of Paddy (Rs/Mt) 2.42 0.41322 Log- Wages (Rs/Day) 2.08 0.48072 Log- Lag dependent 1.58 0.63344 Mean VIF 2.19 ii) In log-log equations the coefficients reflects the price elasticity of the respective variables. For example in the above model the own price elasticity of urea demand is -0.0561 i.e. with 1 percentage proportion decrease in urea price the increase the demand for urea by 5.6 percentage proportion. Similarly, the elasticity of urea demand for paddy price is 0.459 i.e. 1 percentage proportion increase in open market price of paddy can increase the demand for urea fertilizer by 45.9 percentage proportion. In the model the largest, significant coefficient was associated with the open market price of paddy. This shows that paddy farmers production decisions are influenced highly by the output price compared to the price of other factors of production such as fertilizer, labor and crude oil. However both own price elasticity and output price elasticitys are less than one and hence are inelastic. The demand for fertilizer is negatively correlated to the wage rates and crude oil prices. With increasing wage rates and oil prices the cost of production increase and hence these variables are negatively correlated in the demand model. The elasticity of demand with respect to wage rates is -0.261 while the elasticity of demand with respect to crude oil price is -0.145. therefore the demand for urea fertilizer decrease by 26.1 and 14.5 percentage proportions with respect to 1 percentage proportion increase in wage rates and crude oil prices respectively. Crude oil price represent the transport cost and also paddy processing costs. The goodness of fit as denoted by the adjusted R2 value of the above model is 51.6 percentage proportion and the probability value of the f statistic was 0.00. Therefore the model is statistically significant

Crime Mapping Research Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Crime Mapping - Research Proposal Example Examination of the disturbance data table confirms occurrence within broken windows the same as the system of entry, signifying that possibly residences are being beleaguered. This implies geographic patterns ought to follow regions of higher family density, moreover temporal patterns are supposed to follow day by day as well as weekly practices. This will be analyzed inside this analysis. Thematic Choropleth The disturbance data is plotted by means of a thematic choropleth so as to overcome the drawbacks of simple point plots. Derived from the prevalent system of entry which is broken windows, we suppose disturbance crime is powerfully associated with building density for this reason we choose to control the crime data through dividing by number of households instead of dividing by tract area. During this matter we have regulated the ranges to emphasize a smaller number of precedence tracts which are able to then turn out to be the focus of our successive analysis. Our plan is to discover opportunities for a besieged policing effort which lessen crime considerably. So, we regulated the ranges so that fewer than 6 tracts stay in the top grouping. The resulting plot is illustrated in Figure 3. Related Geographic Data and Spatial Relationships When the streets layer plus the disturbance crimes are added to the choropleth plot, it in the end indicates the spatial association between crime events plus the urban landscape. Figure 4 illustrates apparent concentrations in the region of definite streets and intersections plus the very remarkable observation that the Inner Loop Road appears to bound high concentration of crime. Grid Map On the other hand, bearing in mind the drawbacks of simple plot charts to demonstrate crime concentrations we will include a grid... The day-of-week chronological analysis confirms predominance in crime for the duration of the week as measured up to during the weekend, significance that targets possibly residential relatively than commercial. This deduction is held up by the hour-of-day examination even though conceivably the trends are not predominantly strong. Perchance not astonishingly a peak is observed on Friday, but fascinatingly another peak comes about on Tuesday. The results shows disturbances tend to raise after 7am that is when individuals have left for work, next they portray an abrupt drop at lunch time, then a sturdy peak mid- daylight that is the time when school comes to an end, and one more strong peak at 8pm that is the time when individuals go out, in addition to a principally strong peak past midnight. This last midnight peak may possibly be the consequence of reporting curbs. The data is anchored in timeframe furthermore it might be that during midnight is the moment that is selected when def inite time is unknown.

Are Criminals Born or Made Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

Are Criminals Born or Made - Essay Example In spite of the efforts in this direction, crimes continue to exist and it can be concluded that the crimes will continue to exist and this problem cannot be solved. In order to solve this problem, it becomes necessary that the cause of the crimes or the reason why people commit crimes need to be analysed. Traditionally crime has been considered as associated with two domains by the specialists. The domains are the nature or the environment of the individuals including the family and the peers of the individuals. However, it must be noted that these specialists belong to different fields of science as the complexity and dynamics of crime extends to different areas, which are difficult to comprehend. Therefore, the statement "Are criminals born, or made" can be considered as When reference is made to the science of criminology automatically, reference is made to different branches of science such as psychology, genetics, sociology etc. The main purpose of criminology is to deal with crimes and criminals and solve this social problem. The main approaches to deal with the problem of crimes and their resolution are the natural approach and the environmental approach. The environmental approach deals with the circumstances that made an individual to commit a crime and it does not consider the hereditary or family background of the criminal. Whereas the natural approach is sure that the nature of the criminal, his or her genes, and heredity are the main reasons that make him/her commit the crimes.
